My dad had a way with words.
“Son, I was married at the age of 33 and on the Fourth of July.
At the age of 33, our Lord and Savior ended His pilgrimage. I gave up mine as well. On this day our country declared independence. I gave up mine.“
Frank Shepherd loved his wife and country, until death parted him from both.
