But as a smoker, you’re good at saying, “Screw you!” to people when they talk down to you…so we recommend this movie highly. Because while “they” think it’s a parody of you, what you’ll discover is it’s actually a parody of them.
It takes actor Aaron Eckhart, as tobacco-industry spokesperson Nick Naylor, to drive the most important points home with quotes like these—starting with Naylor’s brilliant analysis from the video clip above:
- “How on Earth would Big Tobacco profit off of the loss of this young man? Now I hate to think in such callous terms; but if anything, we’d be losing a customer. It’s not only our hope, it’s in our best interest to keep Robin alive and smoking.”
As well as other common-sense quotes like these:
